David Opitz lives in Missoula, Montana, with his wife Trish. They have three grown children.

He holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence — a background that taught him to think in systems, patterns, and what-if scenarios. Christopher's Plangrew from a question that wouldn't leave him alone: What would it take to transform a person who believes the ends justify the means? The answer turned out to involve a planet, a saint with a seventeen-hundred-year-old prophecy, and the most consequential moral crisis in American history.

When he's not writing, David hikes the trails around Missoula, plays golf with more enthusiasm than skill, and coaches whenever anyone will let him. He believes that faith without action is incomplete — a conviction that runs through everything he writes.
